Description
http://plone.org/products/plone/roadmap/228
Since Plone 3.0 the 'Add Item..' menu (technically the factory menu) is only shown when viewing folders or their default pages. This is confusing for a lot of users and makes it unnecessarily hard to add content.

Motivation
As demonstrated by recurssing discussons on plone-users the current behaviour for plone 3 is seen as a step backwards in usability by various people. In particular it has two major downsides:
- a common use case is having to create multiple items in a folder. For example uploading several images, creating a few pages or adding a couple of downloads. With Plone 2.5 this was simple: you add a new item, enter its information, add the next item, etc. until you are done. WIth Plone 3 this takes 50% more work: you add a new item, enters its information, go back to the folder manuallly, add a new item, etc.
- the current behaviour is confusing: sometimes the menu is shown, sometimes it is now. On some pages you can't add items on others you can just because they happen to be the default page. There is no real consistency anymore. *
Assumptions
Proposal
Restore the old behaviour: always show the add item menu.
