need replacement for uberselectionwidget that handles pagination better

Component: General Version: 4.1
Keywords: portlet, collection, collectionportlet, searchresults Cc:

Description

When searching for a Collection to target within the Collection Portlet edit screen, if you have more than twenty Collections of the same name, the list cuts off and it says "There are more search results, narrow your search." Granted most pages won't have more than twenty of the same Collection name, but it would be nice if it had a paginated list or if you could search for the address as well as the name (i.e. /root/news/local or something).

  • Summary changed from Collection Portlets returned limited search results to need replacement for uberselectionwidget that handles pagination better
  • Milestone changed from 3.x to 4.1

Fixing this requires a better UI for the uberselectionwidget used with formlib (or rewriting the forms that use it to be z3c.form-based and use the content tree widget)

old style collections won't be fixed

  • Status changed from closed to reopened
  • Resolution wontfix deleted

This still applies to new collections, it's the formlib widget in the portlet which is the problem.
